چکیده

We have started a light pollution survey in the Hungarian national parks. use mobile laboratory consisting of digital cameras and robotic panorama heads to gather high-resolution imaging radiometry. The same type with fish-eye lenses are used fix monitoring stations. Parallel radiometry, we measure spectral distribution sky radiation. spectroradiometry provides additional calibration check on measurements further information sources light. an excellent spatial resolution at given park while all-sky camera stations add possibility detect temporal changes night quality. developed new SI traceable metrics for measurement RGB colour channels provide optimal way obtain multispectral radiance information. selected metric is band-averaged radiance. Besides, enhancement technique find traces different In near future, expect large amount high-quality data from parks, which outstanding related atmospheric research. paper, present first results quality survey.

The Hungarian National Corpus

The paper reports on the development of the Hungarian National Corpus, which was completed at the end of 2001 after four years’ effort. The HNC is designed to be a balanced reference corpus of current written Hungarian consisting of 150 million words. The paper first discusses basic design issues concerning the composition of the corpus. The HNC adopts a fairly pragmatic approach, focusing on f...

Mercury in Fish from National Parks

Mercury (Hg) is a toxic, global contaminant that threatens ecosystem and human health. Human activities have increased atmospheric concentrations 3-5 fold during the past 150 years. Airborne Hg enters environmental cycles in complex ways, resulting in the contamination of even remote places. The National Park Service (NPS) protects some of the most pristine and sensitive wilderness in North Ame...

A survey of hantavirus antibody in small-mammal populations in selected United States National Parks.

Hantavirus activity in 39 National Parks in the eastern and central United States was surveyed by testing 1,815 small mammals of 38 species for antibody reactive to Sin Nombre virus. Antibody-positive rodents were found throughout the area sampled, and in most biotic communities. Antibody was detected in 7% of 647 deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus), 2% of 590 white-footed mice (P. leucopus), 17...
